On May 14, Turkey will elect a new president and a new parliament. The spaces of civil society have been shrinking in recent years, not only offline but also in the digital space. What about digital human rights? What are the dangers of the digital space for a fair election next Sunday? What about the new disinformation law, censorship, and surveillance to get uninvited opinions out of the way?

We talk to Cathryn Gothe about this. She is a Research Analyst for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at Freedom in the World, Freedom on the Net, and Election Watch for the Digital Age.
